2010s On Course and
Building Momentum

In 2010, a new business strategy was revealed.

The strategy began with a focus on transforming the Company’s foundation in Heavy Oil and Western Canada. On top of that foundation, the Company would build three growth pillars in Asia Pacific, the Oil Sands, and the Atlantic Region. A focused integration strategy supported upstream production by ensuring that additional revenues could be captured during times of market volatility.

Over two years of consistent execution, the business is on course and building momentum. In 2010, the first phase of the Sunrise Energy Project was sanctioned with first production from the oil sands development expected in 2014. In 2011, development was sanctioned for the Liwan Gas Project, a major natural gas development in the South China Sea which would serve as the basis for growing a material oil and gas business in the Asia Pacific Region. The Atlantic Region continued to serve as a key piece of the Company’s foundation, and steps were undertaken to carry out the development of extension projects from the core White Rose field, including first oil from North Amethyst in 2010.

Today, the Company’s major growth projects are firmly on track and the stage has been set to return heavy oil and Western Canada production on a path for growth.

Husky has built momentum over the past two years and there is a newfound confidence in the Company and in its ability to capitalize on its rich portfolio of opportunities.

After 75 years of success, Husky’s future continues to look bright and promising.
