Husky is proud to provide support to a wide range of health and welfare groups that address important health and social issues. During 2006, Husky pledged $1,500,000 to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation in support of research in child health. In 2007, Husky donated $1,000,000 to the Calgary Health Trust Reach! Campaign to establish the Husky Energy Research Program for the Early Detection of Cardiovascular Risk. This program will help raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and bring together researchers to help develop a preventative health care strategy. Also in 2007, Husky Energy announced $500,000 in support of the Society for Treatment of Autism in Calgary towards renovating and customizing a care centre for children with serious forms of autism. On Canada’s East Coast, Husky Energy donated $250,000 to the Easter Seals House in St. John's, an accessible recreational facility for children with disabilities in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

During 2007, Husky received a number of awards and recognitions for its contributions to health and welfare including:
The University of British Columbia recognized Husky Energy and Mr. John C.S. Lau for Husky’s 2006 donation to assist with the purchase of a state-of-the-art mass spectrometer. This device is used to assess the effects of environmental contaminants on health and will bring research benefits to the University and clinical benefits to area residents.
- The Aspen Family & Community Network Society recognized Husky Energy’s 2006 gift, which helped purchase a mini-bus to transport homeless families to housing in the city and their children to a community school. The Aspen Society has been helping homeless families and working to reduce the effects of poverty for more than 25 years in Calgary.
