Community Investment

Husky places a high value on supporting education.  Contributions to education are an investment in the future of our society, and help educational institutions meet the challenge of producing knowledgeable and skilled graduates.

By investing in education and youth, Husky is planting the seeds for a stronger future for our communities.  In Calgary, history was brought to life through a variety of educational and interactive programs through a $1,250,000 commitment made to Heritage Park.  In 2007, Husky committed $1,000,000 to the University of Manitoba for the Husky Energy Medical Exchange Program, and $1,000,000 to the University of Ottawa’s Husky Energy Fellowships in Sedimentology and Petroleum Geology program. In 2006, Husky announced a $500,000 contribution to the Banff Centre to help fund a learning centre.  On Canada’s East Coast, Husky supports the Techsploration program, which is led by women in resource development.  This program introduces grade 9 girls to opportunities in the oil and gas technology industries.
