Blended heavy crude oil from the production fields and synthetic crude oil from Husky's upgrading operations are moved to Hardisty, Alberta, to connect with the Enbridge, Express, Keystone and InterPipeline Fund pipelines.
The Hardisty terminal handles a range of products, from light and synthetic to blended heavy crude oil, and accounts for approximately 25 percent of total crude oil exports from Western Canada.
Western Canada Select (WCS) is one of North America's largest heavy crude oil streams. Husky has managed the terminal operations for WCS since it came on stream in 2004.
