The majority of the sulphur Husky produces and sells is converted to sulphuric acid (H2SO4), the most common industrial chemical produced in the United States. Sulphuric acid is mainly used in the production of phosphate fertilizer, and is also used in industrial applications such as metal leaching, the manufacture of batteries, vulcanization of rubber, and in the production of cellophane and rayon. Sulphur compounds are also used in detergents, fungicides, dyes, paper, agricultural chemicals, and in conventional silver-based photography.
