The light oil refinery at Prince George, British Columbia is strategically located to supply both Husky’s and industry’s refined products marketing needs in the central and northern regions of the province. The plant was built in 1967, and has been operated by Husky since 1976.
The refinery produces all grades of unleaded gasoline, seasonal diesel fuels, a propane and butane mix, and heavy fuel oil. Low-sulphur gasoline production started in August 2005 following completion of Phase One of the Clean Fuels Project. Refinery throughput increased from 10,000 to 12,000 barrels per day when Phase Two was completed in May 2006. This phase involved a refinery expansion and an upgrade to produce low-sulphur diesel fuel.
