The Terra Nova oil field is located approximately 350 kilometres east south-east of St. John's, 35 kilometres south-east of the Hibernia oil field, in 90 to 100 metres of water. The Terra Nova oil field is divided into three distinct areas known as the Graben, East Flank and Far East.

Husky's initial pooled interest in the Terra Nova field is 12.51 percent. This interest is subject to change, pending re-determination once the field has been properly delineated. Production at Terra Nova commenced in January 2002. Husky’s share of production from Terra Nova was 5.3 million barrels in 2007, or on average 14,500 barrels per day.
