Lost Time Injury (LTI): Is any work-related injury that renders the injured person temporarily unable to perform any regular job or restricted work activity on any normally scheduled workday after the day on which the injury occurred.
Restricted Work Case (RWC): Is an injury where the employee is able to return to meaningful work but is unable to resume full normal duties due to the nature of the injury or illness.
Medical Aid (MA): Is any injury that requires treatment by a physician or other medical professional (including restricted work cases). Medical treatment does not include first aid and lost time accidents.
First Aid (FA): Is any one-time treatment and subsequent observation of minor scratches, cuts, burns, splinters which do not ordinarily require medical care by a physician.
Total Recordable Injuries (TRI): Is a group of injuries which include:
- Fatalities and Lost Time injuries
- Medical aid injuries
- Restricted work injuries.
Total Recordable Injury Rate (TRIR): Is a calculated statistic to track the frequency rate of lost time injuries, medical aids and restricted work cases.
First Aid Frequency Rate (FAFR): Is a calculated statistic to track the frequency rate of first aid.
