Husky Charity Golf Outing Sets New Record for Giving

Lima, Ohio - The Husky Charity Golf Outing raised $134,000 this year for 12 local charities, setting a new record.

"We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of everyone involved in the Husky golf outing," said Ken Blanchard, Executive Director of the Northwest Ohio Literacy Council.

This year's recipients, selected by the golf outing committee, are:

  • Awakening Minds Art
  • Big Brothers, Big Sisters
  • Council on Aging
  • Bradfield Center (Grady Stephen Memorial and in memory of Walter Potts)
  • Lima Allen County Crime Stoppers
  • Art Space
  • Lima- Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program, Inc.
  • Northwest Ohio Literacy Council
  • Teddy Bear Fund
  • United Way
  • West Central Ohio American Red Cross
  • West Ohio Food Bank

"This community prides itself on having a strong support system for our friends and neighbors in need," said Roy Warnock, Husky Energy Vice President, U.S. Refining. "The golf outing is one way Husky and many of its business partners support that work."
