Compensation

Husky offers a comprehensive total compensation program, including:

A Competitive Base Salary

Base pay takes into consideration duties and responsibilities, level of accountability, skills, qualifications, education and expertise, location, industry experience and expertise.

Individual Performance Bonus Opportunities

Employees are considered for a performance bonus for exceeding the normal requirements of the job and/or demonstrating a significant contribution to the organization.

An Incentive Stock Option Plan

Husky has an Incentive Stock Option Plan (ISOP) available to individuals hired into managerial and senior professional roles.

A Flexible Benefits Plan

Employees can customize a benefits and retirement savings program that works best for them, based on their personal circumstances. The program is designed so that employees can buy additional coverage, take Company-paid options, or receive money back in the form of health credits in the event that they do not need the level of Company-paid coverage.

Husky provides:

  • Provincial Health Care (Alberta and British Columbia only)
  • Supplementary Medical & Dental Plan
  • Sick Leave
  • Long-term Disability Insurance
  • Employee, Spouse and Children's Life Insurance
  • Employee, Spouse and Children's Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

Retirement Options

Husky contributes a percentage of an employee's base pay to a retirement plan, which is selected from a number of options. No employee contributions are required. The percentage contribution made by Husky is based on the number of years of continuous service with the Company.

An Exceptional Savings Plan

Husky contributes a percentage of an eligible employee's base pay to a savings plan, which is then paid to employees annually. As with the retirement plan, no employee contributions are required.

A Generous Vacation and Personal Days off Program

Vacation

  • Three weeks vacation time
  • Extended to four weeks after 10 years

New staff will be given credit for directly related prior service up to a maximum of 10 years.

The Personal Days Off (PDO) program is intended to help employees balance their personal and work lives. The program provides both scheduled and flexible paid time off to:

  • Conduct personal business
  • Attend medical and dental appointments
  • Meet family responsibilities

The PDO program includes six flexible days and four fixed days (three days over the Christmas holiday; Calgary Stampede Parade Day for the Calgary office and one day established by local management for other locations.)

Fitness and Health Assistance

Husky sponsors a fitness allowance to subsidize membership in a fitness activity or health program of the employee's choice. Annual influenza vaccine clinics are also provided to Husky employees.

Husky's health management incentives also include an Employee and Family Assistance Program. Its purpose is to provide employees with short-term confidential counselling to proactively address personal, family or job-related situations that can affect an employee's well-being.
